Saw Zappa at Hammersmith in '89 I think.
Rated it as 'alright' as far as gigs go.
This thread goes to show the kind of thing people growing up in certain times just took for granted.

PIL in about 1986 at the Coogee bay hotel when i first arrived in Oz, one of my first but one i will never forget, Johnny Rotten at his best.
Cunted a good section of the audience for gobbing at him, he lent forward and told them "We dont do that no more you cunts" just as a big gob hit him on the nose and hung there for a second, he went mental about it, bouncers got involved and some punk wannabe got thrown out.
Did a great gig after that though................

was at the RATM one too. Saw them a few months before at the Academy and the place was about a quarter full and the band were good but faltering a bit. The difference was amazing, as you said, they were blistering and everyone jumped

Lemmy was still playing then. I'm not sure about 2 drummers though...I think that started later. They were still playing most of the stuff from Space Ritual plus a few new songs from 'HOTMG' Hawkwind at their peak.

Jeff Buckley, and Rage Against the Machine at Glastonbury, 95, I think, and Radiohead at Glastonbury 97.
Bob Dylan singing owned Sinatra hits in Oslo 2015.
Lambchop, all three times in 2006, 2008 and 2012, all in Oslo.
Burning Spear at the Garance Reggae festival in France, about 4 or 5 years ago.
Honourable mention to Beck, a few years back; not for the 35 minute concert, which was pedestrian affair for music industry bods, (you could tell it was an obligation), but for the two hour soundcheck earlier in teh day, with just the techs and a few crew members present.

Bob Dylan playing with Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers - Perth Entertainment Centre ... Mr Google tells me it was 1987
Probably the one that surprised me at how good it was was the last PJ Harvey tour at the Royal Albert Hall. Absolutely brilliant

Kid Creole and The Coconuts - saw them at Friars Aylesbury backin the early 80's, brilliant show
Also, saw Granmaster Flash there too, another good night
Anyone else ever go there? Friars was a noted venue back in the day and credited with the launch of Bowie amongst others
